Romi Gonzalez joined WLG in September 2022 as a Law Clerk, working part-time during the school year. She is a third-year law student at Suffolk University Law School and a 2023 Juris Doctor candidate. At Suffolk, Romi serves as the Executive Editor of the Suffolk Transnational Law Review and is a Diversity Fellow for the Associate Dean of Students.

Prior to joining WLG, Romi worked in various in-house roles and gained hands-on transactional experience. She served as the compliance intern at Karyopharm Therapeutics, an innovation-driven pharmaceutical company, where she reported directly to the VP of Legal & Chief Compliance Officer (Summer 21). During her time there, she surveyed government settlements, evaluated the external risk environment in comparison to existing company policies, and analyzed the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act to conduct due diligence on out of country vendors. 

This past summer, she served as the legal intern for ASICS America Corporation, a subsidiary of the multinational sportswear corporation based in Japan. She reported directly to the Associate General Counsel and assisted him with current litigation matters. Romi shadowed counsel in various corporate meetings, including contract negotiation, litigation, corporate governance issues, and privacy topics. 

Romi was born and raised in Fresno, California and attended California State University, Fresno where she received her bachelor’s degree in Political Science and English. She enjoys coaching and playing volleyball, traveling, and spending time with family.
